Neon Genesis Evangelion - Characters

One thing Neon Genesis Evangelion is famous for, is it's character design. The characters are all well designed, and they all go through certain developments while the story is unfolds. Almost everybody has at least one character who he or she can identify him or herself with. This is considered one of the aspects that made the series such a huge success.

Evangelion pilots
When you first see them, you won't think they would be the ones that will save the world one day. All the pilots look like ordinary 14-year old children. However, they all share the fact that they where born 9 months after the second impact and none of the children have a mother. This is probably about everything they have in common, because their personalities don't match at all.

Evangelion Pilots are always somehow related to their Evangelion. This causes them to have a certain Sync rate, this is a number that shows how much the Evangelion and the Pilot synchronizes with each other. A higher Sync rate means more accurate control.

NERV employees
NERV is the name of the agency that builds the Evangelions in order to fight the Angles. It is quite a big agency with many people working for it. Of course, not all these people take part in the story, but the people that are in any way related to the Evangelions and the battles against the Angels, play a significant role during the development of the story.
